As a whole, my entire household has silently agreed with each other that our house is haunted. On several occasions (dating all the way back too the late 60s) each family member has encountered at least one questionable paranormal experience in my house. There are many frightening encounters I could tell you myself, but just thinking about them gives me the shivers. Instead, I’ll tell you one my mom told me a couple of years ago.
My mom and dad are divorced. Because they are divorced, my sister and I have been visiting my dad every other week since I was about 5 years old. On one weekend when I was at my dad’s, my mom was asleep in her room at our house. It was the middle of the night around 2am or so when she had woken up from a sudden freezing draft. She told me that when she had woken up she had heard quiet breathing, so she had turned in the direction of my bed (to the right of her’s). Faintly visible but standing in the dim light of the window was a little girl about my height at the time with 2 braids in her hair. (When I was younger, wearing two long braids in my hair was my trademark.) It was still dark though, and all she could see was the dark silhouette of the girl. My mom just assumed it was me waking her up, so when she said “Get back to sleep” with a very adamant voice, it surprised herself. The girl didn’t say anything, but instead (and I quote) “fell silently to the ground like ashes”. Dazed, my mom promptly went back to sleep; however, it was the next morning when my mom realized that my sister and I were at our dad’s that weekend. The whole memory still creeps her out today.
