A girl was studying late at night and she was listening to the radio. The station was taking calls from people, and they would tell ghost stories. Then the DJ would rate them (haha). When the segment is over, the DJ would replay all the ghost stories in case some listeners have missed it. So one caller called and started to tell his story.
He told the DJ that he’d received a phone call from his grandparents that something had came up, and that he was needed there. The place was far, so his journey took hours. When it was really late at night, no other vehicles were travelling along the high way.
But then he saw a white van up ahead, and he felt somewhat safe, it’s like having a travelling buddy. But this van was moving too slow so the caller overtook the van and drove on.
After a long while of driving in silence without any other vehicles, he saw another white van coming into view up ahead. This van was also moving very slowly. Feeling a bit strange, the caller said that he decided to memorize the registration plate number thingy on the van. After doing just that, he overtook the van.
And sure enough, after a while, another slow, white van appeared in front of him on the high way. The caller looked at the plate number on the van: it was the same as the previous one.
Feeling creeped out, because, come on, how can a slow van that he had overtaken appear right before him again and again, right? So the caller said he decided to just drive up next to the van and try to see the driver’s face.
When he was right next to the van, he turned to look, and what he saw was so fucking terrifying, the caller lost control of his car, swerved to the side of the high way, and crashed.
“Well, can’t you describe the driver’s face?” the DJ asked.
“No, it was really, really terrifying and out of this world.”
“Eh, nice story, anyway. And hey! At least you didn’t get injured from the crash, right?”
There was a pause. When the caller next spoke up, you could tell from his voice that he was smiling. “My dear DJ, whoever said I survived the crash?”
The DJ was speechless for a moment, and then tried to laugh it all off, but the only response he could get from the caller after that was just, “Please help me. Please help me. Please help me.”
So then the DJ quickly put on some commercials. When he returned, he started to play a recording of Chapter Yasin from the Quran (this took place in Malaysia, where Islam is the main religion) - something the radio station had never done before.
So when the recitation of Yasin was over, the DJ replayed the whole ghost story segment again.
When they reached the White Van story, however, the caller’s voice could not be heard. It’s like listening to the DJ talking alone (“Okay, we have another caller on the line! And what’s your name? Mm-hm. And what’s your story? Ooh, sounds scary! Mm-hm, what happens next?” etc. etc.)
So the only ones who know the story are the ones who listened to it while the caller was telling it.
